School Work

I have to say that I am very proud of my husband. He has been wanting to finish his high school diploma for quite a while and a couple of years ago he started an online course to complete it. Unfortulately he fell behind on it due to other obligations, but with the economy the way that it is, we felt that him getting his diploma took a very high priority!

It has cost us quite a bit of money for him to get his diploma, but it will be worth it in the end. We had thought that it was completely paid for and that all that he had to do was start doing his school work again, but we found out that we still had some to pay on it so with some of our tax return money we finished paying for it and last week we received the final 12 courses that he has to finish before he chooses his elective courses. The nice thing is this will be an actual high school diploma and not a GED. He will receive an actual diploma as well as a class ring when he is finished!

Since he received his 12 course books on Monday he has completed 5 courses which have approximately 4-5 exams per course. Once he completes all of the 12 courses then he will choose his 5 electives which are career based electives. He can choose courses like basic electrician, small engine repair, auto repair technician, small business management, home inspector, catering/gourmet cooking and others.

He has really been working hard at getting this done and is hoping to have it completed within the next couple of months. I am really proud of him and of how hard he is working. He works on his school work most of the day while Mason and I are at school and then he spends time with Mason when we get out of school and then he hits the books again after Mason goes to bed. He has been totally dedicated to getting this completed so that he can hopefully get a better job to help support us because it is looking like he might not have a job anytime soon.

That is an update on how things are going here. We hope that things are going well for everyone. We love you all!

Too Much Fun

Hey family, My sister told me about this and I am having too much fun with it. It is a website that will generate a font from your handwriting for free. http://www.yourfonts.com/ I even had Olea do it... Granted I couldn't make her do it on a template so we did it on scrap paper and I scanned and placed it on the template using Photoshop. Click on the image to see our results. I was too careful with mine so it's not all that great. I will probably do it again, just becasue I can. :)

The Little TV blip with Gary

So here is the video we talked about posting and we couldn't remember what it was:

Gary on Get Gephardt

or the link:
http://www.kutv.com/mediacenter/local.aspx?videoid=78535@kutv.dayport.com&navCatId=7

And here's the written report
http://www.kutv.com/content/gephardt/story/Get-Gephardt-Internet-Service-Slowdown-In-Eagle/8nfQ95CEX06WwHDvCntcow.cspx

The report was a little wrong when it shows the speed test and says "he's supposed to get 500..." it was supposed to be 5000 bit of a difference... anyway we now get more typically what we've been paying for all along.

A video for your viewing pleasure

Zurich likes to dance. He also shows off for guests by twirling around in circles.
Gary was on the phone with Mom and Dad and they talked about putting a video on the blog, but none of us could remember what it was about... so here is something else to fill the void. :)

finally an interview

Gary has been very cautious with what resumes he has sent out and in what form. Tomorrow he has a first interview scheduled. It's just a first and jobs like this usually require 3-4 or more but here's hoping it goes well. The way the company describes itself sounds like a perfect fit for Gary, so I can't help but get excited for him... "At Studeo you can have a blast advancing both your career and your skiing skills." I'm sure Gary wouldn't mind that as he's trying to find a way to afford to take Olea skiing at least once this year. :)

Installing a Husband

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the
flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under
Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 ;uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
* Romance 9.5 and
* Personal Attention 6.5,
and then installed undesirable programs such as
* NBA 5.0,
* NFL 3.0
* Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind,Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install
the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications
Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default
to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very
bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus
in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are
unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn
new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory
and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Personal Blog

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have set up a family blog for Jose, Mason and myself to make it easier for friends and family to keep in touch and know what is going on in our lives. The web address for this blog is: http://theloughmillerfamily.blogspot.com

I hope that everyone is doing great and had a great New Year's!

We love you all!!

Lost Tooth

It's official!! Mason has lost his first tooth! He is becoming such a big boy and is growing up so fast! Before I know it he will be graduating from high school!

Mason with the space between his teeth! It actually looks like he has lost two teeth, but the tooth in the middle is leaning in because it is ready to come out as well. It may actually come out today if we work at it a bit.

Biopsy Results

I finally received the results of my biopsy on Friday morning. My doctor had been out of his office on vacation since the 24th and he finally came back on the 2nd. I called him first thing on the Friday morning because I couldn't stand the waiting anymore. He was swamped with people calling him and paperwork, but he gave the receptionist the okay to give me the results.

It said that it was a breast tissue mass which was NON-CANCEROUS!!!!! I am going to talk to him on Monday because I still want to know whether it was just a blocked duct or whether it was actually a tumor and how I need to procede in the future, but at least for now I know that its not cancer which means no chemo or radiation.

I am glad that for now this is over and done with. I am feeling good except for a little soreness and bruising. I am ready to go back to work after having two weeks off. I think that Jose and I got on each others nerves a bit and it will be nice for me to back to work. I really missed the kids that I work with and it will be nice to see them again.

I hope that everyone had a nice Christmas and a safe New Years.

Gary's first Harvest...

Obviously, no one in this family is faint of heart... so I have no problem posting these pictures.
Gary and the Cow-elkThe kill shot, great is it not?Gary's friend Mike working on quartering it. They tried to get the whole thing down but there was too much snow, too wet. Getting it ready for processing. My brother Lincoln was visiting us... good thing he was curious about it all since we had to take care of it whether he was there or not. Hong Kong did him some good. :) I was curious enough I used Gary's Wyoming knife to cut some of the fur off. I just had to know what it felt like... but then the smell got to me and I had to go back inside.Gary's scope bruise....and second. If you don't know the story... call and ask Gary.
How buried the Spike was when they found it Friday. Thank goodness for Mike's GPS. This may look like a trophy shot, but believe me he's not bragging about it. Proof for the Fish and Game officer... did you know they are actually LAW enforcement officers? I did not. Pretty view from where they were. I was down at civilization level and got some cool shots of them up on the mountain though Mike's scope... but alas... they are obliterated with my memory card as well as our Christmas and my sister's wedding. We had a good Christmas though... and the best news? That elk brought in 109 lbs of elk burger. And probably about 11 lbs of Steak and 5 lbs of stewmeat.
